First self-induced lucid dream
This morning I woke up a little early, got up for a few minutes, and then laid bak down to try some of my relaxation exercises I have been practicing lately. I was still somewhat tired because I had some trouble sleeping last night (I feel this may have helped to induce the lucid dream so it is important to mention). I closed my eyes and concentrated on noticing any visuals that came up, but I think I temporarily lost consciousness soon after. Almost immediately, however, I opened my eyes and was standing next to the bed, but it wasn’t my bed or my room. It seemed more like a kid’s or teenager’s room. At this point, I got a little frightened at that realization and everything started to fade back to black. I wasn’t ready for this experience to end so I concentrated on the room as much as I could and the blackness faded away.
I became curious as to what exactly was happening, so I held my hand up to look at it and make sure I was actually there - it was clearly a hand, but it was dark and opaque, almost like a shadow of my hand. I walked out of the room and down the hall and started thinking that maybe I wasn’t alone; again everything started to fade out but I concentrated again and once again it all came back. I walked a little further and looked in the room to my left, a man and woman were asleep there. Before I could venture any further, I woke up.
This all comes roughly 2 weeks after beginning my attempts; with daily practice, usually twice a day for 30 minutes to an hour each time.
